Here’s what’s new CS-Cart 4.19.1:

1. Nova Theme

For a long time, our community has requested a modern and visually appealing theme that is integrated with the platform. Nova is the result of that feedback. Over the years, design practices and user expectations have changed, and we’ve also gained valuable experience. Nova reflects these shifts and will gradually replace Responsive and Bright as the default theme in future releases.

What’s new:

• Clean, lightweight design with improved mobile performance.
• On mobile, Nova resembles an app, with extra elements hidden, and the main menu positioned at the bottom.

• Handy mobile filters that open with a tap and can be reset easily.
• On desktop, customers can add products to the cart or wishlist directly from the homepage or product list.

• Nova Theme leverages CS-Cart’s built-in compatibility mechanisms to support third-party add-ons out of the box, with minimal to no adjustments required.
  

How to enable:

• New CS-Cart customers get Nova by default.
• Existing stores can switch to Nova after upgrading to 4.19.1 in Website → Themes.
• Several ready-made color schemes (“Styles”) are available.

2. Product Videos

An increasing number of stores are integrating videos alongside product images, and CS-Cart now fully supports this functionality.

How it works:

• Add one or more videos to any product.
• Supported services: link videos from YouTube and Vimeo (saves server space).
• Videos appear directly in the product gallery, next to images.
• Choose if customers see product photos or videos first (and whether or not videos play automatically). Set it globally In Settings → General → Appearance, or enable these settings for individual products. you can choose whether photos or videos show first, and whether to autoplay. Defaults apply globally but can be overridden for individual products.

• Videos are included in product export/import and available via the REST API—so you can upload, export, and integrate them just like other product data.

3. Performance Booster with Varnish Full-Page Cache

The new Performance Booster add-on reduces server load and keeps your store fast.

How it works:

• Uses Varnish Full-Page Cache technology.
• Once a page is opened, a copy is stored in server memory.
• If nothing has changed, CS-Cart displays the cached webpage version immediately—without extra database queries.
• Results in much faster load times, especially for large catalogs and high-load websites.

Note: setup may be complex, not all hosts support Varnish, and you’ll likely need technical assistance.

Availability:

• CS-Cart Multi-Vendor — starting from the Ultimate plan.
• CS-Cart Store Builder — starting from the Unlim plan.

4. Payments by Country

By default, CS-Cart indicates all available payment methods. When selling across multiple countries, this can present challenges, as certain payment methods are only available or supported in specific regions.

Until now, the only available solution was to create separate storefronts. The new Payments by Country add-on streamlines this process by allowing you to specify which payment methods are displayed for each country. During checkout, the system automatically shows only the payment options available for the customer’s country, based on their profile information or checkout selection.

Ideal when:

• You sell globally
• You want precise control over payment visibility without creating extra storefronts.
  

Availability:

• in CS-Cart Multi-Vendor from the Ultimate plan.
• in CS-Cart Store Builder Ultimate (starting with 4.19.1).
  

5. PHP 8.3 Support (Test Mode)

We continue keeping CS-Cart up to date:.

• Minimum PHP version is now 7.4. It reached end of life in 2023, but some users still run it. Before upgrading CS-Cart, you’ll see a warning if your PHP version is older. In that case, you’ll first need to update PHP on your server to at least version 7.4.
• CS-Cart 4.19.1 includes preliminary support for PHP 8.3. We have fixed known issues, but full official support will be provided after further testing.
  

6. USPS API Update

USPS (United States Postal Service) is one of the standard shipping methods in CS-Cart.

Previously, USPS was integrated via Web Tools APIs, but these will be discontinued on January 25, 2026. USPS now recommends switching to the new USPS APIs, and support for them has been added in CS-Cart 4.19.1.

What’s new:

1. You’ll now see two USPS options in the shipping method settings:
   USPS [Deprecated] — the old integration via Web Tools APIs (works only until January 25, 2026).
2. USPS — the new integration via the updated APIs.

How to switch:

• Create a new shipping method in CS-Cart and select USPS (without [Deprecated]) in the Rate calculation field.
• Register or log in at the USPS Developer Portal.
• Enter your new API credentials in the settings of the newly created USPS method in CS-Cart.
• Once you verify that the new USPS method works and displays correctly at checkout, disable the old USPS [Deprecated] method.

This ensures your store will continue to calculate USPS shipping rates correctly after January 2026.

A Smarter, Smoother Admin Experience

We redesigned the CS-Cart admin panel to help you start faster and scale smarter. The panel is mobile-friendly, which lets store owners manage their online projects on the go.

What we did:

• Simplified navigation. Sections and menu items are now neatly grouped in the left sidebar.
• Created a unified settings menu. Previously scattered configuration options are now consolidated into a single “Settings” section in the bottom-left corner.

Welcome to the Dark Side (If You Want)

We added full Dark Mode support for both admin and vendor panels. 

To enable the dark mode, you can:

• Activate it manually via profile settings.
• Let the system switch themes automatically based on your OS preferences or default settings.

Faster Payments with PPCP

Today’s shoppers expect fast, frictionless checkout. So, we upgraded PayPal Complete Payments with Apple Pay and Google Pay support.

New updates additionally deliver:

• Alternative payment options including Venmo, PayPal Pay Later, giropay and more.
• Shipment and delivery details are sent to PayPal automatically.
• Better conversion rates with fewer abandoned carts.
• Trustworthy tools and payment options shoppers already know.

GDPR Compliance with Google Consent Mode v2

New Google regulations require Consent Mode for any site using Google Ads. We updated the GDPR Compliance add-on to include Consent Mode v2.

It means your store:

• Complies with Google Ads policies.
• Keeps personalized ads and conversion tracking running smoothly in the EU.
• Does not need extra setup, just activate the add-on.

Updated FedEx Integration

FedEx is moving to new RESTful APIs, and the old integration is no longer available. No worries, we’ve got your back with our new FedEx integration. CS-Cart lets you easily switch to the new integration to avoid disruptions in order shipping.

How to update:

• Go to Administration → Shipping & Taxes → Shipping Methods.
• Click + to add a new shipping method.
• In the Rate Calculation dropdown, select FedEx (this is the new integration).
• Enter your FedEx credentials from your FedEx account.
• Save the method and test it to ensure it works correctly.

Once confirmed, you can safely disable your old shipping methods.

Plans for the Future: Nova Theme Is on Its Way

A couple of themes from our partners (New Generation and Next Theme) haven’t been updated for the latest Muti-Vendor Cloud version, and so they can no longer be selected. Thin Theme remains fully supported and continues to deliver a smooth and reliable design experience.

PayPal Complete Payments (PPCP) and Authorize.Net receive several crucial upgrades, providing store owners, marketplace operators, and developers with more flexibility, higher conversion rates, and enhanced long-term security.

PPCP with Support for Apple Pay and Google Pay

While shoppers crave for fast, mobile-friendly checkout, we improved our PayPal Complete Payments integration.

From now, the payment method supports Apple Pay and Google Pay, which are two of the fastest-growing digital wallets in the eCommerce industry.

The upgrade ensures:

• Faster checkouts across different devices (either desktop or mobile).
• Better conversion rates thanks to reduced friction.
• A smoother UX with tools shoppers already know and trust.
• Support for some local payment providers. 

These improvements are available both for single-store owners and multi-vendor marketplaces. For marketplaces, Apple Pay and Google Pay don’t support situations where products from multiple sellers are in the cart (in these cases, these payment options won’t appear). However, PPCP continues to automatically split funds between any single seller and the marketplace, eliminating the need for manual payouts.

Authorize.Net Updated to the Latest Requirements

We upgraded Authorize.Net integration. With version 4.18.4, we decided to move toAuthorize.Net API, the recommended solution by Visa-owned Authorize.Net. Customers leave their credit card information at your checkout page, but it doesn’t get saved by the store—instead it goes directly to Authorize.Net to process the payment. 

Please note, our earlier Authorize.Net integration is now marked as [Deprecated]. However, it is still available unless disabled by the payment provider.

The upgrade ensures:

• Improved reliability and compliance with the latest payment processing requirements.
• Continued support for your existing setup, if you choose not to switch immediately.

To use the new integration, simply create a new payment method in your admin panel. Your old one will still work, but for full access to the newest features, we recommend upgrading.

Stay Connected to FedEx with New Integration

FedEx has switched to their new RESTful APIs, and the old integration in CS-Cart may stop working after August 31, 2024. To keep your FedEx shipping methods active, we’ve introduced a new integration based on FedEx RESTful APIs.

CS-Cart store and marketplace owners will need to update their FedEx shipping settings to use this new integration. This will ensure you can continue shipping orders smoothly through FedEx without any disruptions.

Protect Your Sales with Expanded PayPal Complete Payments

With expanded PayPal Complete Payments, sellers now feel safer and buyers are better informed about their delivery.

CS-Cart now automatically sends both customer addresses and shipment details to PayPal when an order is placed. Here’s what that means for you:

• PayPal gets a customer address. CS-Cart automatically sends a shipping address to PayPal, which helps protect you from fraud. PayPal’s seller protection policies don’t cover payments without a valid shipping address, and PayPal may even hold orders because of this. By sending the address automatically, you avoid those holds and stay protected. Additionally, sending the address to PayPal allows you to print shipping labels directly through PayPal, saving time and making shipping more convenient.
  
• PayPal gets shipment details and tracking numbers. You can opt to send shipment details and tracking numbers to PayPal, providing added protection in case of disputes. This also keeps your customers informed, as they can track their orders easily, giving them confidence in the buying process.

Update to CS-Cart 4.18.3 Today

Updating to CS-Cart 4.18.3 helps ensure your store or marketplace keeps running smoothly with important services like FedEx and PayPal. Without the update, you might face delays in shipping or get exposed to potential fraud, which can badly affect your sales and customer satisfaction.

Stay on top of things, protect your payments, and keep your store or marketplace up-to-date by reactivating your upgrade subscription and moving to CS-Cart 4.18.3.
